Neben den Produzent:innenbesuchen, die uns k\u00fcrzlich wertvolle Einblicke in die paraguayische Lebensmittelproduktion erm\u00f6glicht haben, bildet der Workshop die Basis f\u00fcr das Foot Impacts Toolkit (FIT), das corsus im Rahmen von&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.corsus.de\/?post_type=portfolio&amp;p=4667\">CLIF \u2013 Climate Impacts of Food<\/a>&nbsp;entwickelt. Mit der Unterst\u00fctzung des&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwf.org.py\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WWF Paragua<\/a>y&nbsp;konnten hierf\u00fcr viele Produzent:innen \u2013 insbesondere von Zuckerrohr, Mate und Rindfleisch \u2013 aber auch Vetreter:innen aus Branchenverb\u00e4nden und Nichtregierungsorganisationen gewonnen werden.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper block-wrapper--paragraph\"><div class=\"container container--narrow\">\n<p>Der Workshop hatte zum Ziel, die Umweltauswirkungen der Nahrungsmittelproduktion und des Lebensmittelkonsums in Paraguay besser zu verstehen und dabei von den anwesenden Expert:innen zu lernen. Daf\u00fcr wurde in Gruppen gearbeitet und sowohl die Konsumperspektive als auch die Produktionsperspektive betrachtet. Die Unterscheidung dieser Perspektiven ist speziell f\u00fcr Paraguay wichtig, da im Land viele sog. Cash Crops, als lukrative Kulturen, angebaut werden, die nicht f\u00fcr den heimischen Markt produziert, sondern beinahe ausschlie\u00dflich exportiert werden. Wir waren nicht zuletzt von der Offenheit sowie der l\u00f6sungs\u00f6rientierten Haltung beeindruckt, mit der die Anwesenden \u00fcber die Probleme der Agrarproduktion in Paraguay gesprochen haben.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper block-wrapper--paragraph\"><div class=\"container container--narrow\">\n<p>Diese Probleme unterscheiden sich mitunter von denen in Deutschland. So ist in Paraguay die Entwaldung ein gro\u00dfes Thema. Seit den 1990er Jahren wurden im Land massiv Prim\u00e4rw\u00e4lder zugunsten von Ackerfl\u00e4chen \u2013 auch f\u00fcr besagte Cash Crops \u2013 abgeholzt. Die weit fortgeschrittene Entwaldung hat sich inzwischen zwar verlangsamt, bedroht neuerdings aber die bisher kaum erschlossene, semi-aride Region Gran Chaco, in der sich wertvolle \u00d6kosysteme befinden. Da im Chaco das Grundwasser stark salzhaltig ist, wird zunehmend Wasser aus fernen Regionen in den Chaco bef\u00f6rdert. Neben einer weiteren Verknappung der paraguayischen Wasserressourcen wirft dies auch die Frage auf, ob zur Wasserbef\u00f6rderung erneuerbare Energie genutzt wird oder ob zulasten des Klimas auf fossile Ressourcen zur\u00fcckgegriffen wird.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-wrapper block-wrapper--paragraph\"><div class=\"container container--narrow\">\n<p>Diese und viele weitere Einblicke aus dem Workshop tragen entscheidend zur Grundlage bei, auf der corsus das FIT entwickelt. FIT ist ein Werkzeug, das in verschiedenen nationalen Kontexten f\u00fcr Verbraucher:innen ebenso wie f\u00fcr Handel und Au\u00dfer-Haus-Verzehr Informationen zur Nachhaltigkeit von Lebensmitteln liefern wird.
